Truth and fact were found. The Capitol building is sitting on top of hidden history, as do the rest the buildings of that area immediately surrounding the Capitol, if not beyond.
I am up to my forehead in research now, trying to find records of things and people that played a large part in RECLAMATION of land from as early as 1825 to 1850 before the State first joined the UNITED STATES.
RECLAMATION of land from water. How can land be reclaimed from water in a land that supposedly was not settled before 1849? How would they know they were reclaiming what used to be solid land?
If I walk away with more questions than answers from any of my research, then I’m doing something right.
