Who is depicted on the Minin and Pozharsky pedestal bas-relief?

I never really gave it a second thought but this is the medieval Knights Hall in the Hague, it is like the Dutch version of Capitol hill. But even historians are puzzled about this +/- 800 year old building. Again off topic but I am baffled with this painting Golden Coach (Netherlands) -...

Similar style buildings are all over the world. Were they built by our civilization?

After my house renovation last year ( social rent) there is one thing I know for sure. These people on the workfloor gave no shit, so the renovation is from really bad and cheap quality. The narrative is: "slaves made this huge buildings, that's how it was done" but if these people who come to...

Gustave Trouvé - a genius you've never heard of...

I am always interested in the name.. Trouve - to find. What a coincidence. It is almost becoming mainstream; if an unbelievable life changing event that is supposed to change the narrative (war, earthquake of San Francisco, the fairs) happend, they always find photo's, even films. But if they...

400 year old Sahara Desert, or why people forgot everything they knew about Africa

I did go to the Sahara desert when I was young (90's) on a camel. The same way it amazes me how the Dutch beach became so... sandy. I mean most beaches are rocky and partly sand. And in the Netherlands we have sandy beach and dunes.... The Sahara desert was kilometers filled with sand just like...

Polar Freezers and the Global Warming

I don't think anything is melting. I stumbled upon a book: gas supply after oil lamps (in Europe) and it was written before ww1. And the wealthy powers we all know pushed Europe into gas. And it made them rich. And gas became actually more expensive. I think this whole energy transit happening...

    Chronology: how old is America?

I am new in here and I don't understand the astrological part in the discussion, but I can so far help you out with the (joust of) carrousel question: carrousel is an old military exercition, a movement that a horse makes with his front leg jumping up while his hind legs kicking backwards; it...
